Position Overview
We are hiring a Mill Operator for the stacking and bundling end of our tube mill. Working at the back of the mill, you will stack finished tube, form bundles to packaging specifications, and coordinate with packagers and material handlers to strap, label, and move completed bundles off the line. This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable in a fast-paced production environment with continuous product flow.
Essential Duties
- Operate stacking and bundling equipment at the runout end of the tube mill, forming finished tube into bundles per packaging specifications
- Coordinate with packagers to strap, band, and label bundles
- Work with material handlers to move completed bundles off the line
- Inspect product as it exits the mill and remove or flag non-conforming tube
- Keep the runout and packaging area clear to prevent jams and minimize downtime
- Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance of stacking and bundling equipment
- Follow safety policies including PPE, lockout/tagout, and pinch-point awareness
- Communicate with mill operators, packagers, material handlers, and supervisors
- Other duties as assigned
Must Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years in a manufacturing or production environment (mill, packaging, or material handling)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with continuous product flow
- Attention to detail for bundle counts and product quality
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
- Strong communication skills and team orientation
Nice to Haves
- Experience operating banding or strapping equipment
- Forklift or overhead crane certification
- Previous experience in steel or tube manufacturing
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, with frequent handling of tube and bundles
- Comfortable working in a loud, industrial environment with moving machinery
