*Please note that this position is a permanent, part-time position, working 2 days per week (14 hours weekly). This is a new position within the finance team. St. Matt's does not use AI as part of the screening and selection process.

Mission Impact / Role Summary
St. Matt's is a place of hope where families, children and individuals most in need receive help to improve their lives and to increase their capacity to participate in the community. The Accounts Payable clerk is responsible for carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the position in accordance with the mission of St. Matt's.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide financial support to the Director of Finance and other managers, supervisor's and staff
Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements using QuickBooks Online
Ability to work with supervisors and managers to secure receipts to process in QBO
Complete bank and visa reconciliations through QuickBooks Online
Prepare payments through cheques, EFT, and use of Plooto (AP) software
Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its business partners
Process donations and other payments made to St. Matt's through Stripe, Square, & Keela
Work with other administrative staff members
Creating/taking part in inclusive programming and engage in EDI focused community outreach for new St. Matt's initiatives, including new community /municipal partnerships
Other duties as required

Qualifications & Experience

A Bachelor's Degree in related field
2 years of accounts payable experience preferably in a non-profit social services organization
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Quickbooks, Payroll software
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Experience with general office procedures
Ability to work under pressure and meet targets and deadlines
Knowledge of government funding/reporting guidelines and responsibilities
Must demonstrate a high level of independence and autonomy
Completion of a satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screen prior to and throughout employment is required

Mental & Physical Effort

The Accounts Payable clerk is able to work a hybrid model. Office space will be provided but work from home arrangements can be accommodated. The work will require the incumbent to spend a significant amount of time on a computer. This position requires an ability to lift boxes of up to 10kg.
