The RAH is located in the heart of Edmonton and provides general and specialized medical and surgical health services. We are seeking a detail-oriented and licensed Pharmacist to join our overnight team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and verifying medication orders to ensure accuracy, safety, and compliance with the AHS formulary and standards. You will collaborate with healthcare providers and pharmacy teams to resolve any medication-related issues. The successful candidate will be working overnight shifts (23:00 to 07:15) in the RAH dispensary. This specialized schedule ensures you will always have a colleague by your side, fostering collaboration and teamwork, while providing a strong support system. This unique shift distribution offers work-life balance, alongside a nightshift premium. We strive to provide a balanced schedule, however recognizing that operational pressures may arise. Our shift distribution may be subject to change.

Description:

As a Pharmacist I, you will be responsible for the safe, effective and efficient preparation and distribution of pharmaceutical services. You will manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis. In addition, you will provide assessment, intervention and resolution of potential or actual drug-related problems and oversee activities related to compounding and packaging.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. Current, provisional or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacist.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous dispensary experience in a hospital pharmacy. Experience providing order verification in Epic. Experience providing remote order verification in Epic. Completion of a Canadian accredited pharmacy residency program. Membership in professional hospital pharmacy organization. Attendance at a hospital pharmacy conference in the last 2 years.
