House of Lager is a vibrant restaurant and brewery in the heart of Squamish, built around exceptional hospitality, quality food and beer, and meaningful community connections. Since opening in May 2025, we've quickly established ourselves as a destination for locals and visitors alike—whether they're joining us for a casual pint, family dinner, celebration, or private event.
We're looking for an experienced and passionate General Manager to lead our growing team and continue building a culture of hospitality, accountability, and excellence.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves being on the restaurant floor, developing people, solving problems, and creating memorable guest experiences. You'll lead from the front, inspire your team, and play a key role in shaping the future of one of Squamish's newest hospitality destinations.
The Role
As General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of daily restaurant operations while working closely with ownership and the Head Chef to deliver exceptional service, operational excellence, and financial performance.
You'll be responsible for leading a management team and a staff of 50–80 employees while fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the management team and front-of-house staff
- Foster a positive, accountable, and guest-focused culture throughout the business
- Prioritize being present on the restaurant floor, engaging with guests and supporting the team during service
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences by maintaining high service standards
- Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and labour costs to meet operational goals
- Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop team members
- Partner closely with the Head Chef and kitchen leadership to ensure seamless daily operations
- Oversee inventory controls, ordering processes, and cash handling procedures
- Monitor financial performance, profitability, and key operational KPIs
- Support the planning and execution of private events and large group bookings
About You
You are an experienced hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong teams and positive workplace culture.
You bring:
- Proven leadership experience managing managers and large hospitality teams
- Outstanding communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Strong understanding of labour management, scheduling, and cost controls
- Experience recruiting, training, coaching, and developing team members
- The ability to build strong collaboration between front-of-house and culinary teams
- A calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure
- Event or banquet management experience is considered an asset but is not required
