CNC Machinist
Benshaw Canada has a full time opportunity for a passionate individual to join our team as a CNC Machinist. In this position, you will be responsible for the set-up, operation and maintenance of CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards and production schedules.

What will you do?
- Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes or other machining equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and work orders
- Select, install and adjust tooling, fixtures and machine parameters
- Load programs, verify offsets and make minor program adjustments as required
- Inspect machined parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges and indicators
- Monitor machine operation to detect tool wear, machine issues or quality concerns
- Perform first-off, in-process and final inspections as required
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
- Deburr, clean and prepare finished parts for the next operation
- Follow established safety procedures, work instructions and quality requirements
- Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping duties
- Identify opportunities to improve machining processes, cycle times, quality and safety
- Communicate production delays, material issues, tooling concerns or non-conformances to the appropriate team members.
What you bring to the position:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CNC Machinist, CNC Operator or similar manufacturing role
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T symbols
- Knowledge of CNC machine operation, tooling, speeds, feeds and offsets
- Experience using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment
- Strong understanding of machining tolerances and quality standards
- Ability to perform machine setups and make basic adjustments
- Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic math skills, including decimals, fractions and measurement conversions
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Ability to lift up to 70lbs
The following would be considered an asset:
- Completion of a machinist apprenticeship, college program or technical training
- Experience with CNC programming or editing G-code
- Experience with mills, lathes, multi-axis machines or machining centers
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
- Forklift where applicable
