For more than 20 years, we have provided individualized, family-centred speech and language services in clinic, home, school/daycare, and virtual settings, with clinic locations in Durham and Listowel, Ontario.

Cheryl D. Lindsay Speech & Language Services is seeking a Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to join our team in a part-time independent contractor role with an established caseload and room for continued growth.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CDA who enjoys one-to-one work with children and families, values flexibility, and wants to work within a supportive private practice setting. New graduates are welcome to apply.
The CDA will provide speech and language intervention under the supervision of our registered Speech-Language Pathologists, based on individualized goals and treatment plans. The caseload is primarily preschool and school-age children, with opportunities to support a range of ages and communication needs in individual and occasional group formats.

- Home
- Virtual care, where appropriate

Areas of support may include
- Speech sound / articulation and phonological disorders
- Early language development support
- Receptive and expressive language delays
- Literacy and phonological awareness difficulties
- Social communication / pragmatic language differences
- Neurodiversity-affirming support
- Fluency disorders
- AAC support, where appropriate
Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy under the supervision of the SLP
- Implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans and home practice programs
- Support a diverse caseload with varied communication needs
- Prepare therapy materials to support client goals
- Collect session data and communicate progress to the supervising SLP
- Support families, educators, and other communication partners by modelling strategies and providing carryover ideas
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with the supervising SLP regarding treatment planning, progress, and clinical questions
- Participate in team meetings and consultation as needed
- Support program organization and waitlist management as needed
Qualifications
- Graduate certificate or diploma as a Communicative Disorders Assistant
- Experience preferred; new graduates welcome
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Warm, professional, family-centred approach
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a supervising SLP
- Strong organization, reliability, and time-management skills
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation
- Vulnerable Sector Check required

Job Type

Compensation
$32–$38 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and availability
Schedule
Flexible weekday availability during the school year is preferred; modified summer scheduling applies.
Work Location
Hybrid / community-based role. Services are provided in a variety of settings across Grey and Bruce counties, including schools, daycares, clients’ homes, clinic locations, and virtual care. Our clinic locations are in Durham and Listowel, and travel between service locations is required.
