Trison Tarps is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented and self-motivated Senior Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate should be capable of performing full cycle bookkeeping duties, be familiar with payroll processing, capable of meeting deadline and working independently.
Reporting to the President, the Bookkeeper will have strong technical bookkeeping knowledge to support daily accounting operations and uphold internal financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
· Bookkeeping
o Manage full cycle bookkeeping including journal entries, accruals and adjustments
o Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and consistently.
o Manage AR and AP, including invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and customer/vendor setup
o Process HST, WSIB, and other CRA-related payments and installments
o Maintain compliance with applicable regulations
o Perform monthly bank, credit cards and balance sheet reconciliations. Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
o Maintain organized financial records, filing systems, and supporting documentation
o Prepare year-end working papers and liaise with external accountants for financial statement compilation and tax return preparation
o Assist with cash flow management
o Support management with financial reporting and analysis
o Provide recommendations for process and workflow improvements
· Human Resources
o Process bi-weekly payroll, including deductions, benefits, overtime, and statutory remittances
o Maintain accurate payroll records including ROEs, T4s and EHT reporting and ensure compliance with provincial and federal legislation
o Assist with Health & Safety administration
o Manage group insurance implementation
· Administrative
o Source and purchase office supplies and support day-to-day office operations
o Handle general office duties such as filing and answering phone calls
o Organize office events and company functions
o Coordinate travel arrangements and process related expense reports for management
o Complete other tasks as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
· Diploma or degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a related field.
· Minimum 5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience (required)
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial procedures and reporting practices
· Strong experience in processing payroll
· Strong computer skills and experience with accounting software.
· Experience with cloud-based accounting tools considered an asset.
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with strong organizational and time management skills
· Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
· Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information
· Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with internal staff and external partners
Compensation
· $30.00-$35.00 per hour
Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
