Administrative Coordinator (Part-Time)
Powell River Minor Hockey Association is seeking a qualified and organized individual for the position of Administrative Coordinator. PRMHA is a non-profit society serving approximately 360 members throughout the Powell River community.
This is a part-time, year-round position with the heaviest workload occurring between September and April. The starting salary for this position is $23,000 annually.
The Administrative Coordinator (AC) reports directly to the President and works closely with the Executive Directors, Officers, and volunteers to support the day-to-day operations of the Association. This is a non-voting position.
Key Responsibilities
The Administrative Coordinator shall:
- Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of PRMHA on a year-round basis
- Provide general administrative support to the Executive and Board as required
- Source, prepare, and submit grant applications on behalf of PRMHA
- Coordinate board meeting logistics, including booking facilities and assisting with AGM preparation
- Work with the Registrar to ensure volunteer screening requirements are completed
- Collaborate with the Tournament Committee to plan, coordinate, and support tournament operations
- Coordinate the PRMHA Year-End Awards program, including managing nominations, securing a venue and emcee, and ordering awards
- Work with Registrars to monitor Parent Respect in Sport (RIS) requirements and identify missing bench staff qualifications through the Hockey Canada Registry system
- Attend the AGM, extraordinary meetings, and any additional meetings deemed necessary by the Executive
- Maintain and assist with website and social media content as needed
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office programs
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- The ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and schedules
- Experience with administrative support or office coordination
The following would be considered assets:
- Previous hockey volunteer experience
- Administrative Assistant or Office Administration training, or a combination of equivalent education and experience
- Experience managing website content
- Experience with sports organizations, volunteer coordination, or event planning
- Experience preparing grants or gaming-related documentation
