International Polyurethane Solutions (IPS), has been a leading innovator in the polyurethane industry for over two decades, specializing in premium quality binder, casting resin and spray coating products.
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller with a manufacturing background to the join the leadership team and contribute to the ongoing and exciting growth of the company. As a senior member of the Leadership Team, you will report directly to the CEO. You will supervise and be accountable for the full cycle of accounting along with other duties:
- Manage all accounting operations including Payroll, Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Develop internal control guidelines, policies, and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, and other activities.
- Ensure compliance with provincial & federal regulatory requirements and professional standards.
- Establish and maintain financial controls with the accounting department.
- Prepare and present timely financial reports and risk analysis.
- Create budgets and forecasts.
- Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Provide support to management, particularly in commercial and financial matters.
- Create reports that help senior leadership understand company financials.
- Be responsible for the company general ledger.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Assist in the preparation and review of financial reports and annual audit.
- Improve processes and internal controls in all areas managed.
- Manage debt facilities and review compliance reporting as applicable.
- Perform and complete month-end closing process for all company entities.
- Lead the preparation and management of working capital analysis.
- Recommend policies and procedures relating to financial and business practices of the company.
- Analyze and interpret balance sheet and income statement metrics and trends.
The team member we are looking for will ideally have the following knowledge and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field.
- 5 years proven work experience in accounting or a related field.
- Understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
- Understanding of economic principles, financial markets, and banking.
- Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting.
- Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
- Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
- Proven experience in financial project management.
- Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel and SAP.
- Must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand.
