We are looking for an experienced for either a seasonal full time Class 1 Farm Operator to join our team. Job Description:
As a Class 1/Farm Equipment Operator at Koeman Farms, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our harvest activities. You will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and managing various pieces of equipment, including trucks, combines, and tractors, to support day-to-day farming operations. There are seasonal or full time opportunities depending on the experience of the candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trucking: Hauling grain to elevators or bringing product back to the yard and loading it into our bin yard using augers
- Harvesting: Operate machinery during harvest, whether it’s trucking, combining or driving grain cart etc.
- Field Work: Additional field work can include: tillage
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, cleaning equipment and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Yard Work and Organization: Assist with various tasks on the farm, including required yard work and ensuring clean and organized work areas.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Class 1 Drivers License
- At least 2-3 years of hands-on experience operating farm equipment
- Mechanical experience is an asset
Skills & Requirements:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Great work ethic combined with an eagerness to learn
- Positive attitude and team player
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work long hours in varying weather conditions and physically demanding tasks.
- Strong verbal communication
