Role Overview
In the role of a Sewing Machine Operator, you will be a key part of our custom uniform team, ensuring that all team apparel and jerseys are finished to our premium standard. Your primary focus will be operating at our Langley, BC production facility, mainly sewing tackle twill names, numbers, and crests onto hockey uniforms, alongside various other custom sewing projects.
While sewing is the core of this position, you will also collaborate with the production team by handling a touch of heatpressing when the workflow requires it. Additionally, if you have a background or familiarity with basic graphic design, it is considered a strong asset that will help our team prep artwork files and keep the production pipeline moving efficiently.
Your main point of contact is the Team Sales Production Manager who remains available for daily guidance, priority updates, and collaboration to ensure our custom orders are delivered seamlessly.

Core Responsibilities
Custom Uniforms & Sewing
· Securely and accurately stitch tackle twill namebars, numbers, and team crests onto a wide range of hockey jerseys and uniforms.
· Handle specialized apparel tasks including attaching sponsor patches, sewing on jersey fight straps, and executing minor sports apparel alterations or repairs.
· Measure and align names and numbering accurately prior to stitching to guarantee complete consistency across entire team orders.
Secondary Production Support
· Assist with setting up and operating commercial heatpress machinery to apply vinyl lettering, direct-to-film (DTF) transfers, or pre-heat twill components.
· Safely operate and maintain industrial sewing machines, keeping them threaded, clean, and functioning properly to avoid production delays.
· Work alongside the production crew to count garments, verify order details upon check-in, and ensure finished products are ready for the customer.
Graphic Design Support (Valuable Asset)
· File Preparation: If experienced, help review vector files and design proofs to ensure names and numbers are formatted properly for production.
· Coordinate with sales reps and production staff to accurately translate order specifications from screen to physical product
Requirements
· Legally authorized to work in Canada on an ongoing basis.
· Able to work on-site at our Langley, BC facility; this is not a remote position.
· Comfortable remaining in a stationary or seated position for extended periods throughout the workday, as the role primarily involves sustained sewing machine operation.
· Able to occasionally lift, carry, or move boxes or garment bundles weighing up to 20 lbs.
· Sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to handle small components, align materials precisely, and operate sewing machinery safely.
· Able to work in a production environment that may include moderate noise and heat levels from industrial equipment.
· Must be able to communicate effectively in English to follow order specifications, coordinate with team members, and flag production issues.
Schedule & Flexibility:
This is a part-time position with hours and days to be determined collaboratively based on your availability and our production needs. We understand that life outside of work matters, and we're happy to work around school and family schedules where possible. While a core availability of 15-20 hours per week will be required to keep orders on track, we aim to build a schedule that works for both sides.
