Event Coordinator – 1891
1 YR Term Position-Chilliwack
Base Office: Chilliwack (Luckakuck)
Salary- $53,273.17 - $61,162.79 Per Annum (35 hrs. per week)

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Event Coordinator will assist in coordination of special and annual events, summer camps, conferences, etc. on behalf of the Agency’s Prevention and Protection programs. The Event Coordinator will assist in ensuring that events are delivered to clients, Children in Care, and their families in a respectful, confidential, safe and culturally sensitive manner. The coordinator will, but not limited to; assist in the development of annual events and schedules; the distribution of event information; and the development of assessment tools; and to provide assistance when requested by their supervisor.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

Certification in any of the following fields of concern: Social Services, Community Support Worker, Recreation, Child Development, Office Administration OR related education and actual experience (minimum of two (2) years) in activities citied in the specific job duties and responsibilities.

At least 1-year experience coordinating special events.

Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills, and speaking.

Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of staff and volunteers.

Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone, with high professionalism.

Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.

Fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.

Proficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and mail merges; email and web searches.

Ability to prepare contracts and payment documents; purchase goods or services paid for through petty cash or corporate credit card and validate by receipt; monitor expenditures and financial variances; obtain cost quotations; resolve payment problems

Ability for being organized and must have good coordination and monitoring skills and able to keep good recording system.

Ability to deal tactfully with employees, community members, vendors, trainers and contractors.

Valid BC driver’s license required – no restrictions
