Position Overview
The Registered Massage Therapist and/or Certified Spa Practitioner (RMT/CSP) is responsible for providing massage services to CMH guests, leading dynamic warm-up class each morning, and responsible for the daily upkeep of the spa area at the lodge. This person will work as part of a team and be highly organized, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
This is a seasonal job opportunity. These positions are based on a 10-hour day for guest exchange days, and a 5-hour day plus booked massage times and commissions on massage days. A typical schedule consists of 2 weeks on and 1 week off. Accommodation is available while on shift, at no extra cost, for staff joining our team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Lead a comprehensive and dynamic 30-minute warm up class, which includes a variety of movement patterns, on all mornings apart from a guest exchange day.

Take full ownership of the spa & fitness facilities inclusive of the massage rooms and executing daily and weekly cleaning duties related to these spaces.

Responsible for laundering all massage linens and towels, resetting and preparing the massage table between guests, and maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness in the treatment space.

Manage the guest massage schedule including charge entry for completed massages.

When operational needs require, assist the lodge team with meal service and clean up.

Active involvement in the cleaning of the lodge and guest rooms on exchange days to prepare the lodge for incoming guests.

Perform radio duty, as required, to support field operations.
Willingness to assist other members of the lodge team as needed.

All employees will support the implementation of CMH health and safety and sustainability initiatives and participate in training and provide assistance as required during emergency response situations.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Completion of a recognized massage therapy program with appropriate education and practical training.
-
Demonstrated competency in relaxation and rejuvenation massage techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue and sports massage.

Current authorization/registration to practice massage therapy in Canada, as required.

Experience working in a remote lodge, preferred.

Background in luxury hospitality, preferred.

Experience working with an international guest clientele, preferred.
Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Qualities

Strong understanding of delivering a personalized, high-touch guest experience.
Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, professional boundaries, confidentiality and appropriate therapist/client conduct.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn other relevant software platforms are important, as is the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating seasonal workloads and changing priorities. The role requires a trustworthy, goal-oriented, respectful, and self-directed individual who can navigate complex responsibilities. Additionally, the candidate must have the confidence to interact with all levels of the company, including those in remote locations within a hub-and-spoke model.

This type of work setting is challenging and demanding. Successful staff are intrinsically motivated by a passion for massage experiences in the backcountry and creating memorable experiences with our guests.

This job is in a remote area of British Columbia. Employees are required to find their own way to and from the lodge or helicopter staging area for work shifts.

Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 30 pounds on an occasional basis.

Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.

This position is required, at times, to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business.
- This position may require occasional travel to CMH areas, as well as some travel to industry functions on an occasional basis.

Compensation
A competitive hourly rate will be provided based on skillset and experience, along with commissions for massages and 4% vacation pay and potential opportunities to heli-hike and heli-ski, as available. Further details will be discussed in a personal interview.
