Are you passionate about purchasing, procurement, and building strong business relationships? As a Purchaser / Buyer within our centralized Mining team, you'll be a key partner to several business units, helping ensure essential products and services are sourced efficiently and delivered on time. Working with internal teams, vendors, and corporate purchasing, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your expertise in supply chain and procurement practices.
Work Location: Acheson, AB.
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 per annum.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid, providing the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Process purchase requisitions, quotations, and purchase orders.
- Source products and services to support operational requirements.
- Monitor order status, back orders, and vendor performance.
- Support invoicing, reconciliations, and purchasing documentation.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory-related records.
- Assist with inventory planning, forecasting, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, corporate purchasing, and vendors.
- Deliver responsive customer service and support continuous improvement efforts.
What You Bring
The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in a purchasing and procurement career and 1-3 years of experience with purchasing responsibilities in the heavy equipment industry. Other qualifications include:
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and customer service skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively within standardized policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- A flexible approach and openness to change, continuous improvement, and different ways of working.
