Now Hiring: Full-Time Medical Office Assistant

Midtown Medical Centre is seeking a professional, organized, and patient-focused Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our busy family medical practice in Airdrie. We are looking for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is committed to providing exceptional patient service.

Qualifications Required

Completion of a Medical Office Assistant/Unit Clerk Certificate.
Minimum 1–2 years of experience working in a medical clinic or healthcare setting.
Proven working experience with Medaccess Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
Excellent computer and telephone etiquette.
Ability to maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

Greet and assist patients in a courteous and professional manner.
Register new patients and update patient demographic information.
Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments.
Answer and direct incoming telephone calls and respond to inquiries.
Manage physician schedules and appointment bookings.
Operate and maintain the Med Access EMR system, including:
Appointment scheduling.
Scanning and uploading documents.
Processing referrals and consultations.
Managing incoming laboratory and diagnostic reports.
Prepare and organize patient charts and medical records.
Process specialist referrals and track referral status.
Receive, sort, and distribute faxes, mail, and electronic communications.
Coordinate with physicians, specialists, pharmacies, laboratories, and other healthcare providers.
Assist with billing administration and Alberta Health-related documentation.
Maintain inventory and order office and medical supplies as required.
Ensure examination rooms and reception areas remain organized and professional.
Follow clinic policies, infection prevention procedures, and privacy legislation.
Perform other administrative and clerical duties as assigned.
