Accounting Clerk – Vehicle Accounting

Stoney Trail Mazda | Calgary, AB

Salary: $45,000–$52,000 per year, based on experience

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule: Monday to Friday | Day Shift | On-site

As an Accounting Clerk – Vehicle Accounting, you'll review, reconcile, and post vehicle accounting transactions while supporting the daily accounting operations of one of Calgary's busiest Mazda dealerships. This role requires sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of work while consistently meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Review vehicle sales documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with dealership policies.
Investigate discrepancies and work with the Sales, Finance, and Accounting teams to resolve issues before posting.
Review, reconcile, and post vehicle accounting transactions accurately and within established deadlines.
Prepare and maintain General Ledger (GL) entries related to vehicle sales.
Preparation of sales commissions after vehicle sale entries have been posted.

Maintain accurate accounting records and electronic files.
Assist with daily reconciliations, bank deposits, and other accounting responsibilities.
Support month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
Ensure vehicle accounting transactions are processed promptly while maintaining compliance with internal controls and accounting procedures.
Provide administrative support to the accounting department as required.

Whether you're a recent accounting graduate or have up to four years of accounting experience, we're interested in people who are eager to learn, think critically, and contribute to a collaborative accounting team.

Accurate data entry
Strong 10-key proficiency is considered an asset

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration, or equivalent accounting experience.
0–4 years of accounting experience or a recent accounting graduate.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial record keeping.
Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and resolve them effectively.
Experience with PBS or another dealership management system is considered an asset.
Automotive dealership accounting experience is considered an asset but is not required.
