Junior Content Curator — Aivia Inc.
Aivia Inc. is a small team of highly-trained and passionate mobile app developers and custom enterprise software specialists based in Edmonton, Alberta, founded in 2002.
During that time we have grown our company and services, and are now rapidly expanding our Software as a Service (SAAS) business across North America with Communikit, a mobile app framework that allows our clients to easily communicate with their memberships using simple to use but powerful tool sets.
We believe in doing new and exciting things with technology and solving problems via automation, with a particular focus on supporting local, provincial, and national First Nations organizations in their technology and communications efforts. We're looking for a detail-oriented, community-minded writer and communicator to join us as a Junior Content Curator.
What You'll Do
You'll work on the Content Team to publish timely, accurate, and meaningful content on behalf of our clients — including news, events, job postings, documents, forms, and urgent community notifications. Many of our clients rely on this content to reach their community with time-sensitive information, so accuracy and care are everything.
Day-to-day, you can expect to:
- Build relationships with Communikit clients and learn the preferences and voice of each community you support
- Publish and update content across our platform using internal tools and databases
- Audit and repurpose existing content to fit new contexts and client needs
- Ensure every piece of content is accurate, on time, and consistent in style — both with each client's identity and Aivia's standards
- Support colleagues on the Client Success Team with research, client communication, and reporting
- Contribute ideas and feedback as we continue to grow
What You Bring
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- A sharp eye for detail — you catch errors others miss and care about getting it right
- Familiarity with journalistic best practices: proper citations, spelling, syntax, and adapting tone for Canadian vs. American audiences
- Comfort working independently in a fast-moving environment — we're a small team and there isn't always a roadmap
- A genuine interest in communications, content, and community engagement
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (asset)
- Experience using Figma (asset)
- Post-secondary education in Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience (asset)
- Experience working with or alongside First Nations communities (asset)
Who Thrives Here
We care more about attitude and initiative than credentials. If you're someone who takes ownership, asks good questions, and gets energized by meaningful work — you'll fit right in. Our team is small and collaborative, and your voice matters from day one.
This role isn't for someone who needs heavy direction or a rigid structure. But if you're self-motivated, adaptable, and excited to help build something — there's a lot of opportunity here.
