Job description:

We are looking for a full-time Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) to join our busy and growing clinic team. We are seeking someone who is energetic, personable, reliable, and passionate about patient care.

The ideal candidate is naturally extroverted, enjoys interacting with patients, and is able to build strong therapeutic relationships while maintaining a friendly yet professional connection with physiotherapists and other team members.

Our clinic environment can be fast-paced during peak hours, so we are looking for someone who works well under pressure, stays organized, and maintains a positive attitude throughout the day.

In this role your duties may include:

Exercise prescription for our patients. This would include post-operative fractures, motor vehicle patients, WSIB, sports injuries, and general musculoskeletal issues.
Setting up patients with modalities such as ice/heat/TENS/IFC/Laser/Shockwave therapy. The kinesiologist will be educated on the indications, contraindications, and precautions for these modalities.
Tidy and maintain the clinic to the level of College Standards. These tasks would include laundry, cleaning machines, and additional tasks that contribute to an organized clinic.
Perform biomechanical, fitness, and functional assessments under the mentorship and direction of a physiotherapist
Design, implement and supervise graded exercise, work conditioning and/or work hardening programs
Perform biweekly reassessment of client progress through functional testing
Record functional and subjective findings in client charts on a regular basis
Work cooperatively with clients to set and achieve functional goals
Conduct group orientation and education lectures and regular one-on-one education to clients
Complete functional components of reports for initial, progress, and discharge
Ensure return to work plans with client and employer have been made and documented in the client chart
