Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Child & Adolescent Therapist to join our team. This role involves working with children and youth (ages 6–18) presenting with a range of mental health needs. The ideal candidate is passionate about supporting young people and families, and thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must be in good standing with one of the following regulatory bodies:
- Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP)
- Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists (NSCCT)
- Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW)
- Social workers must hold a Clinical Specialist designation
- Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents (ages 6–18)
- Strong assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic intervention skills
- Experience working with a range of mental health concerns (e.g., anxiety, mood disorders, behavioural challenges, trauma, ADHD)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Commitment to ethical, evidence-based, and culturally responsive practice
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual therapy to children and adolescents
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with families, schools, and other professionals as appropriate
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Participate in team collaboration and case consultation
