Description complète du poste

A Roof Over Your Head is seeking a compassionate and reliable Residential Support Worker to support individuals who have experienced homelessness or are precariously housed. This position works within an DOSD-funded Master Lease housing program and helps maintain a safe, stable, and supportive residential environment.

Responsibilities

Provide respectful, person-centred support to tenants in maintaining housing stability.
Build positive, professional relationships with tenants using trauma-informed and harm-reduction approaches.
Provide practical support, information, referrals, and connections to community and social services.
Monitor the safety and well-being of the residence and respond appropriately to concerns or emergencies.
Support conflict resolution and de-escalation when required.
Complete shift reports, incident documentation, and other program records accurately.
Communicate relevant information during shift changes and with the program team.
Support a clean, safe, and welcoming residential environment.
Follow organizational policies, DOSD program requirements, health and safety procedures, and confidentiality standards.
Promote tenant dignity, choice, independence, and participation in their housing.

Qualifications

Relevant degree or diploma in Social Work, Human Services, Community Services, Psychology, Addictions, Mental Health, or a related field OR 2–3 years of relevant experience.
Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, housing instability, poverty, mental health concerns, substance use, or other barriers to housing is an asset.
Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and de-escalation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated commitment to trauma-informed, person-centred, and harm-reduction practices.
Current First Aid/CPR or willingness to obtain.
Satisfactory background/vulnerable sector check as required.

Schedule & Compensation

$22.00 per hour on a 7-day rotating schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
