Part-Time Budget Services Facilitator for Existing Vacancy
Permanent Position - 45 hours per 2-week pay period
Pay Range $25.29 – $27.48 per hour
Position Summary: The Budget Service Facilitator provides support to adult individuals with a developmental disability to create and implement a personal budget that meets individual’s needs. NHCIA values person-centered planning, self-determination and choice.

Responsibilities:
- Through North Hastings Budget Services and under the direction of NHCIA’s Executive Director assume the responsibilities of trusteeship with identified individuals
- Establish and administer trusteeships with the goal of fostering financial independence whenever possible, and promoting understanding of financial rights and responsibilities
- Create a budget plan with individuals/families in receipt of ODSP to meet their goals (i.e., help increase their monthly cash flow, grow their savings, etc.)
- 1:1 financial coaching, budget tracking, monitoring, and updating
- Educate and support individuals in developing budgeting skills, financial management strategies, and access to relevant community resources
- Perform required financial and banking duties for all trustee accounts, including bill payments, cheque writing, bank deposits, bank reconciliations, data entry, managing trustee accounts, and completing related transactions
- Complete administrative tasks, including: log notes, data collection, reports, physical and electronic filing, and deal with collections as required on behalf of individuals
- Respond to and manage correspondence, including emails, telephone calls, and other communications, in a timely and professional manner
- Income reporting, rental changes, and any other necessary reporting required by ODSP
- Annual assessments and surveys to meet compliance and Ministry reporting requirements
- Attend, lead, and actively participate in meetings
- Meet with individuals and their support staff on a regular basis and as needed for crisis situations or special circumstances
- Participate in ongoing training and development of professional skills
Qualifications & Required Skills:
- Education in Finance/Accounting and two years’ experience managing funds and investments
- Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities is considered an asset
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Wave: Small Business Software
- Submission of a criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening to be reviewed by the Executive Director
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification (emergency level or higher)
- A valid Full G class driver's license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle, and $1,000,000 liability coverage
- Ability to work with support staff from NHCIA in a collaborative manner
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of NHCIA within the workplace and in the community
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, if required
