Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper/Accountant to manage our financial records and ensure accurate accounting practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of accounting software and financial concepts, with the ability to handle various functions including accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, journal entries, and understanding the full accounting cycle. This position is critical to ensuring accurate financial management and supporting efficient office operations. Reporting directly to the president of the company. The ideal person will be detail oriented but flexible enough to prioritize daily work as required.

Responsibilities

Bookkeeping including accounts payable and accounts receivable – collecting payments is involved.
Thorough understanding of QBO, Excel, and MS 365; use of industry specific CRM software, and a general comfort with working in cloud-based systems.
Payroll processing
Government remittances including HST, WSIB, and EHT; support with government audits
Collaborate with corporate accounting firm for year-end purposes
Duties/Special projects as required by the president; support co-workers as needed
Prepare and record journal entries, including debits & credits, in accordance with GAAP standards
Maintain thorough documentation of all financial transactions for audit purposes

Requirements

Demonstrated record of integrity and trustworthiness
Proven experience bookkeeping or accounting roles – must be comfortable contacting customers, suppliers, and government agencies either by phone or email
High school diploma or equivalent; higher education in accounting preferred
Experience with payroll processing through Dayforce/Powerpay preferred
Experience with account reconciliation and bank reconciliation
The ability to make bank deposits is required – a valid driver's license is necessary
Strong people skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of personality types
Proficiency in spoken and written English

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
