Belleville, Ontario | In-Person | Flexible Caseload
We are not looking for someone who simply has EMDR on a list of modalities.
We are looking for an experienced therapist who genuinely enjoys trauma work and wants to do more of it.
The Relationship Centre (TRC) has an established need for in-person trauma and EMDR therapy in Belleville. We provide the referrals, administrative support, therapy space and practice infrastructure so you can spend more of your time doing the clinical work you trained to do.
Current therapist compensation is $108–$126 per standard 50-minute clinical session, based on experience and clinical level.
A little about us
The Relationship Centre is an established psychotherapy practice serving Belleville, Kingston and surrounding communities.
Our work is attachment-focused, trauma-informed and relational. Emotionally Focused Therapy and EMDR are important parts of our clinical identity, alongside the individual expertise our therapists bring to the practice.
Our guiding belief is how we relate changes everything.
That influences how we understand our clients, but also how we work together as a team.
We care about doing excellent clinical work while creating a practice where therapists are trusted, supported and able to work in a way that feels sustainable.
Who we're hoping to meet
You may already have a private practice or be working somewhere you're reasonably happy.
What TRC can offer is the opportunity to do meaningful clinical work without carrying all of the business and administrative work that comes with practising on your own.
We would particularly like to meet you if you:
- Are a Registered Psychotherapist, Registered Social Worker or similarly qualified regulated mental health professional in Ontario
- Have completed recognized EMDR basic training
- Have meaningful experience using EMDR in your clinical work
- Have experience with trauma, PTSD, complex trauma, attachment wounds, anxiety or related concerns
- Want to provide regular in-person therapy in Belleville
- Bring sound clinical judgment and are comfortable taking leadership in the therapy process
- Value attachment-informed, relational and trauma-informed work
- Appreciate consultation while also being able to practice independently
- Are looking for somewhere you could see yourself contributing over time
Experience working with first responders, veterans, complex trauma or neurodivergent clients would be especially valuable.
Advanced EMDR training or certification is welcome, but not required.
What the work looks like
Your work would primarily involve:
- Providing individual psychotherapy to adults experiencing trauma and related concerns
- Using EMDR when clinically appropriate as part of thoughtful, individualized treatment
- Developing and communicating clear treatment plans and next steps with clients
- Maintaining timely clinical documentation and professional standards
- Consulting with colleagues when it adds value to the work
For an experienced trauma therapist, there is also room to shape your work around the areas you do best.
That may include:
- Developing a caseload that is more intentionally focused on complex trauma, first responders, veterans or other areas of specialization
Offering longer-format trauma sessions when clinically appropriate and workable within the practice
- Helping us thoughtfully explore and develop EMDR intensives as a future service
- Bringing advanced trauma training or specialized approaches into your work
- Contributing clinically to conversations about how we continue strengthening trauma treatment at TRC
These are opportunities, not expectations.
Clinical skill matters. So does being relational, reflective and genuinely engaged in the work.
What TRC takes care of
You are not responsible for finding your own clients.
TRC provides:
- An established referral stream
- Dedicated administrative support for inquiries, billing and client coordination
- Active practice marketing and community outreach
- Comfortable, professionally designed therapy space in our Belleville office
- Support building a caseload around your areas of expertise
- Opportunities for clinical consultation and connection
- Optional therapist consultation groups
- Direct billing for many insurers and third-party programs
- Flexibility in shaping your clinical schedule within the needs of the practice
- The option to include virtual work where clinically appropriate
There is considerable autonomy here. We want experienced therapists to be able to practice like experienced therapists.
At the same time, you aren't practising entirely on your own.
How we work together
Our values at TRC are Relational Integrity, Commitment to Growth and Wholehearted Presence.
But we don't want those to be words that simply sit on a wall.
They show up in fairly ordinary things: following through with clients, doing good clinical work, asking for consultation when we need it, communicating when something isn't working, being open to learning, and treating one another well.
We are not trying to build the biggest practice. We are trying to build a strong one.
