The Township of North Huron is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Roads Operator to assist with the operations of the Public Works Department.
The Roads Operator is responsible for performing a variety of public works related tasks in both rural and urban settings within the Township of North Huron. Typical duties include, but are not limited to, repair and maintenance of municipal roads, sidewalks, parking lots, culverts, storm and sanitary sewer systems, water collection systems, and other designated Municipal infrastructure within the Township of North Huron.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Valid class D driver’s license with Z endorsement.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Heavy Machinery certification or equivalent experience considered an asset.
- Previous working experience and knowledge in construction practices.
- Ontario Good Roads training considered an asset.
- Experience and knowledge in vehicle and heavy equipment maintenance techniques.
- Ability to operate a snow plow, road grader, other heavy equipment, power tools, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
Rate of Pay: Band 5, $26.01 - $35.12
Hours of Work: Full-Time, 40 Hours per week, availability to work evenings and weekends as needed, in addition to sharing on-call duties.
