Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Millwright Lead Hand to oversee and coordinate maintenance and installation activities on a variety of client sites throughout Canada. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and industrial maintenance skills, with the ability to lead a team effectively. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining complex machinery, ensuring optimal operational efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The Millwright Lead Hand will play a vital role in maintaining safety standards and fostering a culture of reliability and excellence throughout our crews.

Duties

Champion the company safety program, creating a culture of safety throughout the crew.
Lead and supervise a team of millwrights and maintenance personnel to perform routine inspections, repairs, installations and preventive maintenance on a variety of heavy equipment.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills.
Perform troubleshooting and repairs on programmable logic controllers (PLCs), Air Cooled Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Turbines, and other industrial equipment.
Manage site paperwork requirements and daily LEMS
Conduct welding, mechanical alignments, and installations as needed to support client operations.
Maintain compliance with legislative safety standards.
Assist in training team members and apprentices on technical tasks and safety procedures to promote a knowledgeable workforce.

Qualifications

Journeyman Certification Proven experience as a Millwright (Industrial Mechanic).
Extensive experience in the installation and repair of rotating equipment.
Minimum of 2-5 years in a lead position
Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices including troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues efficiently.
Experience working with industrial equipment such as pumps, conveyors, air cooled heat exchangers, gearboxes, motors, and other machinery components.
Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams accurately.
Strong analysis skills for diagnosing complex equipment problems quickly.
Excellent communication skills in English for effective team coordination and documentation.
Leadership qualities with the ability to supervise staff while fostering teamwork and safety awareness.
