What You’ll Do
- Attendance and punctuality. Arrive to work on time and as scheduled.
- Read and follow operating procedures, specifications and instructions.
- Calculate and fill in production time sheets and logbooks.
- Responsible for the operation and output of the secondary functions of a major machine or operating a single person machine or function with low product impact.
- Responsible for understanding all safety requirements of the job.
- Correct and train the other crew members.
- Ensure all directions, instructions, specifications, and procedures are followed.
- Produce quality products.
- Ensure efficient operation of the function, machine, and/or crew.
- Locate and deliver various component parts, checking stock for proper number and use.
- Assist in setting and maintaining line controls.
- Self-serve as needed and/or operate a forklift/overhead cranes, hoists.
- Perform any other task deemed necessary by Management.
- Perform specification check - overall gauge, cover gauges, plies, length and width.
- Use and properly care for hand tools while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform responsibilities with limited supervision.
- Timely communication with Production Supervisor regarding production problems to eliminate downtime
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to personal safety, machine safety, and safety rules. Attend all required safety trainings as directed by Supervisor.
- Report all injuries, hazards and near "misses" to your supervisor immediately.

- Must be able to operate all secondary functions of major machines in assigned area, plus all single person machines or functions; have a good general understanding of the overall operation of the department together with some knowledge of the construction of the product being made.
Required Education & Experience
- Grade 12 Diploma or GED
- Mechanically inclined
Preferred Education & Experience
- 1-2 years manufacturing experience
- Ability to work with tight deadlines
- Possess the ability to multi - task
- Previous forklift and overhead crane experience would be an asset
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
- Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to move 100 lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
- Frequent manual dexterity
- Routinely stand, squat, and/or work in confined spaces
- Visual acuity
- Work in varying atmospheric & physical conditions.
