ABOUT GIDSS
GIDSS — Gandhian Initiative for Development of Support Services Inc. — is a registered Canadian charity based in Brampton, Ontario. We serve diverse communities across the Greater Toronto Area through active programs in AI & Digital Literacy, Newcomer Skills Support, Multicultural Events, Peace Campaigns, and Community Legal Support.
Our team is led by Dr. Raminder Singh, PhD CFRE — Professor, published researcher, Crisis Counsellor, and Executive Director — who provides hands-on mentorship to every intern.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a meaningful, hands-on internship placement with a registered Canadian charity. You will work directly alongside our leadership team on real, active projects — not coffee runs or filing. From day one, your contributions will impact real people in real communities across Ontario.
We welcome students from Social Work, Business, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, and Information Technology / AI programs.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Community outreach & program delivery
- Social media content creation & digital communications
- AI & digital literacy training projects
- Event planning & workshop coordination
- Grant-funded project support across all active GIDSS programs
- Any new projects received from funding organizations during your placement
- Administrative & organizational support
No two days will look the same. You will gain exposure to the full scope of nonprofit operations — from frontline community service to communications, technology, fundraising, and project management.
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN

REQUIREMENTS
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Ontario
- Program must require a field placement, co-op, or internship component
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, social media)
- Genuine interest in community service and social impact
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently
Asset (not required): Experience with Canva, AI tools, or nonprofit environments.
