A skilled corporate/estates law clerk is desired for a busy corporate/estate planning practice in Brantford, Ontario. This is an in-office role. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience ($60,000.00-$70,000.00).

Key Responsibilities

Assist with estate planning matters including initial preparation of documents, file maintenance, etc.
Assist with corporate law matters including incorporations, acquisitions, dissolutions, amendments, and reorganizations, by preparing and filing forms, coordinating signings, assembling and maintaining minute books
File Management: Open, maintain, and organize electronic and physical files.
Docketing & Billing: Assist with account generation and billing.

Qualifications

Required:

3+ years experience as a corporate or estates law clerk/assistant.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Suite programs (word, excel, teams, outlook)
Excellent communication and client service skills.
Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.

Preferred:

Familiarity with legal software such as LEAP, Appara/Minutebox, Adobe Acrobat, Pactima, Docusign.
Legal Assistant Certificate, Law Clerk Certificate, Bachelor Degree in Paralegal Studies, Administration, or other relevant education.
Registration as a Commissioner of Oaths or Notary Public, or willingness and ability to acquire
