Job Summary

The Team
The Prince George Court Administration team is a dedicated and collaborative group of approximately 24 professionals committed to supporting the court system and ensuring accessible, effective justice services for the community. This established team includes court clerks, registry staff, Deputy District Registrars, Justices of the Peace, and other justice partners, all working together with integrity, compassion, and a shared commitment to service excellence.

The Role
This role is responsible for supporting court operations by performing pre‑court duties, monitoring proceedings, maintaining accurate records, and operating case tracking systems in compliance with provincial standards. In addition to courtroom responsibilities, the position performs routine clerical duties such as filing, document preparation, swearing affidavits, and providing front-line service that ensures timely, impartial access to justice for the people of British Columbia.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements

Secondary school graduation or equivalent (GED).
Minimum of two years’ administrative support or customer service experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Minimum of one-year previous work experience in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and working with standard computer applications and software programs (e.g., Windows, MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
Keyboard speed of 40 words per minute.
Valid B.C. drivers’ licence.

Preference may be given to candidates with:

Experience in court programs and applications (e.g., JUSTIN, CEIS, ARC, CTAS, CCD).
Experience as a Court Clerk and/or Registry Clerk.
One year of previous work experience in a legal environment.

Provisos:

May be required to work flexible hours, including varied shifts and overtime on short notice.
May be required to travel, including travel in adverse weather conditions and work in other geographical areas, including circuit court locations. Must have reliable transportation and/or be willing to travel with others.
