Position Summary
The Assurance Manager has a leadership role involving numerous responsibilities and
competencies. As a leader on the assurance side, the Assurance Manager (AM) works closely with
the Partners/Principals to ensure our clients receive comprehensive high-quality assurance services.
The AM manages multiple engagements, ensuring the work done is complete, accurate, timely and
comprehensive. Utilizing excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the AM serves as a key
contact for clients and effectively deals with client concerns.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the management and oversight of the assurance team, and the assurance
work being done. This includes:
o Scheduling for incoming work, meetings and filing requirements
o Following up with staff on the file progress
o Keeping everyone informed of the progress
o Ensuring tax, banking and other deadlines are met
o Monitoring time spent on files and billing additional work when appropriate
o Providing daily guidance, coaching and support to the assurance team as they
develop and grow their knowledge and skill levels.
o Sharing knowledge and best approaches with the team.
o Assisting with the CPA training process:
- Leading the interview process for co-op students and serving as a key contact
with university co-op offices
- Mentoring CPA co-op students including assistance with PERT and quarterly
mentor reviews
- Presenting financial statements, adjusting entries, SUDS, etc. in client meetings.
- Keeping up to date with budgets and new rules. Sharing important updates within firm and
sending communications to clients in a manner they would understand.
- Building client base alongside designated Partner/Principal.
