RPAS Spray Pilot – 6-Month ContractJob Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced RPAS Spray Pilot to join our team on a 6-month contract supporting aerial spray operations. The ideal candidate will hold a Transport Canada Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate, an RPAS Spray Operator endorsement, and possess proven hands-on experience operating heavy-lift spray drones in agricultural and/or vegetation management settings. This role is field-based and requires travel to client sites; the successful applicant must be comfortable working long days outdoors in variable conditions throughout the spray season.
Term: This is a 6-month contract with the potential to extend or convert to full-time based on performance and operational need.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct safe, efficient, and compliant aerial spray missions using company RPAS spray aircraft.
- Perform pre-flight inspections, mission setup, calibration, mixing/loading, in-flight monitoring, and post-flight tear-down.
- Maintain accurate flight logs, application records, and spray records for each job in accordance with regulatory and client requirements.
- Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of drone and ground support equipment.
- Communicate with clients and crew on-site to confirm field boundaries, no-spray zones, weather windows, and treatment specifications.
- Ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations, provincial pesticide applicator regulations, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements, and company safety protocols and SOPs.
- Provide daily debriefs to the operations lead on completed work, equipment status, and any incidents or near-misses.
- Adapt to various field conditions and travel to remote work locations for extended periods.
Required Qualifications:
- Transport Canada Advanced RPAS Pilot Certificate.
- Hands-on operational experience with DJI Agras and XAG spray platforms.
- Valid provincial pesticide applicator licence (or willingness and ability to obtain prior to start).
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification.
- Proven experience operating heavy-lift spray drones in commercial agricultural, forestry, or vegetation management settings.
- Valid Class G or DZ (or provincial equivalent) driver’s licence and clean driving record; comfortable towing and operating support vehicles/trailers.
- Ability to work in remote field locations, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as weather and operations require.
- Strong communication, record-keeping, and safety-first mindset.
Preferred / Asset:
- Level 1 Complex RPAS Pilot designation (preferred — internal training available if needed).
- First Aid / WHMIS certifications.
- Prior experience operating in multiple provinces and across varied crop types.
