About the Opportunity
We are currently expanding and have an open opportunity for a full-time QC Manager to join our team at our Campbell River office. This role is both office and site-based and requires travel to site including overnight stays.
As the new Quality Control Manager you will play a key role in overseeing quality assurance, control, and safety across our exterior envelope projects. This individual works closely with field teams and project management to ensure all work is completed in accordance with project plans and drawings, product specs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a strong focus on workmanship, compliance, continuous improvement, and site safety.
Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Conduct regular QC and Safety inspections of active work.
- Identify quality-related risks that could impact safety, schedule, cost, or performance.
- Verify material quality, installation methods, tolerances, and workmanship.
- Identify deficiencies and potential failures early and issue corrective actions.
- Maintain quality management systems for operations.
- Ensure construction work meets contractual obligations.
- Ensure quality documentation supports warranty, close-out, and handover.
- Enforce safety protocols and maintain internal, customer, and WCB compliance.
- Verify proper use of PPE, fall protection systems, equipment safeguards, tools use.
- Inspect required tickets onsite (Lift, Fall Protection, etc.)
- Complete safety investigations upon incident or near miss.
About You
To qualify for this position, you will need to demonstrate adequate construction or exterior finishing experience. In addition, this role requires a valid driver’s license.
The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:
- Knowledge of Canadian Building Codes, standards, and compliance.
- Experience with exterior siding systems and general construction assemblies.
- Proficient at reading, interpreting, and explaining construction plans and product specifications.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and solutions.
- Knowledge of machine lifts and generalized maintenance requirements.
- Strong construction safety understanding and experience with safety administration.
- Proficient at reading, interpreting, and explaining contract terms.
- Strong proficiency in digital tools, including computers, mobile devices, and relevant software applications.
- Proficiency in learning jobsite tools and software such as Fieldwire, Salus, & Procore.
- Proficiency in navigating and updating Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to manage digital filing systems and digital documentation effectively.
- Bonus: Tools-based install experience for early site mockups.
