This position is located in Kenora, Ontario. Relocation assistance is available to the successful candidate.

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Welfare Worker to join our team. This vital role involves supporting children and families through various social services, ensuring the safety, well-being, and development of children in need. The Child Welfare Worker will collaborate with community resources, provide advocacy, and deliver essential support to vulnerable populations. Candidates should have a strong commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of children and families, demonstrating empathy, patience, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

Conduct home visits and assessments to evaluate the safety and needs of children and families.
Develop and implement individualized service plans tailored to each child's circumstances.
Provide counseling, guidance, and support to children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities.
Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community organizations to coordinate services.
Monitor progress and adjust intervention strategies as necessary to promote stability and growth.
Document case activities accurately and maintain confidential records in compliance with agency policies.
Advocate for children's rights and connect families with resources such as housing, healthcare, education, and mental health services.
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and community outreach programs to enhance service delivery.

Requirements

Prior experience working with children in social services or related fields is preferred.
SSW, BSW or related field.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to effectively advocate for clients.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
Valid driver’s license. Occasional travel required.
Must be committed to ongoing professional development and staying informed about child welfare best practices.

Pay: $61,937.00-$92,220.00 per year
