We are hiring an experienced Commercial Steel Door & Hardware Installer for a full-time hybrid role that combines the trade you know with paid, hands-on experience in commercial storefront installation.
In simple terms:
You take commercial doors, frames, and hardware from delivered to installed, operating properly, and ready for turnover.
You will also work with our storefront crew to install aluminum framing, glass, entrances, and related systems while developing another valuable commercial trade.

The Work
You will spend roughly half your time installing commercial steel frames, doors, and hardware, and half working alongside our commercial storefront team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Installing hollow metal doors and frames
- Installing commercial wood doors
- Installing architectural hardware, including hinges, locksets, exit devices, closers, coordinators, seals, thresholds, and protection plates
- Laying out and preparing doors and frames for hardware
- Adjusting and troubleshooting doors, frames, and hardware
- Reading door schedules, hardware schedules, shop drawings, and construction drawings
- Identifying incorrect materials, unsuitable openings, and site conditions before they become larger problems
- Communicating clearly with project managers, site supervisors, customers, and other trades
- Working with our storefront team to install aluminum framing, glass, entrances, and related systems
- Maintaining a safe, organized, and productive work area
Be the Installer Who Makes It Work
Commercial installation rarely goes exactly as planned.
We are not looking for someone who ignores a problem or immediately passes it along. We are looking for an installer who takes ownership, communicates early, and arrives with possible solutions.
You will have support when you need it. We simply expect you to participate in solving the problem.

- Frames are set correctly.
- Doors swing, close, latch, and seal properly.
- Hardware matches the schedule and operates as intended.
- Problems are identified early—not during turnover.
- The project manager receives useful updates without having to chase for them.
- You work productively with both the steel-door and storefront teams.
- You approach unfamiliar storefront work with curiosity and a willingness to learn.
- Installations are completed safely, accurately, efficiently, and without avoidable callbacks.
You’ll Fit Here If
- You have commercial steel door, frame, and hardware installation experience
- You understand how commercial door hardware components work together
- You can read drawings, schedules, and hardware information
- You can diagnose installation problems and develop practical solutions
- You communicate early when something does not match the plan
- You are willing to learn commercial storefront and glazing work
- You can work independently without disconnecting from the team
- You are dependable, punctual, organized, and professional
You care about the finished result—not just getting off the site
You have a valid driver’s licence
You can safely handle commercial doors, frames, glass, and related materials
Experience with welding, steel-door fabrication, frame modification, automatic-door operators, access-control hardware, or storefront installation is an asset.
