Peace River School Division requires a Part-Time Temporary (0.60 f.t.e.) Educational Assistant at Menno Simmons Community School. This position will commence on August 27, 2026. The successful candidate will be mainly providing learning support to students in core subject areas in Grades 7 to 12. Additional duties may include assisting with the learning or special needs of students at other grade levels.
Menno Simons Community School serves students in grades K-12 population, comprised of English students and ESL Mennonite students. The school is situated west of Fairview near Cleardale, Alberta, approximately 200 km west of Grande Prairie.
Qualifications:

Educational Assistant Certificate or equivalent are preferred.

Experience and/or training working with student in school setting.

Ability to work with children with varied ages, skills level, needs and abilities
Skills:
- Willingness to be part of a learning team, take direction and follow programs without direct supervision.

Willingness to attend training and professional development opportunities on individual learning and complex learning needs.

Ability to be flexible to the changing classroom environment and individual child needs
-
Ability to manage and organize programming and keep records.

Good communication skills.
-
Ability to work collaboratively with teachers.

This is a union position under the collective agreement between the
Rate of Pay:
$22.59 to $28.02 per hour (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the CUPE Local 4839 and the Peace River School Division).
