Reporting to: Crew Supervisor

SUMMARY:

Precision Grounds is located in Stayner, Ontario. We are looking for 1 LANDSCAPE CONSTRUCTION LABOURER to join our team. Previous experience required. We are looking for a dedicated and reliable person, who wants to broaden their skills and build a career in this industry, and grow with our company.

A Landscape Labourer is responsible for performing a variety of work tasks (generally physical labor) to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects. The landscape laborer will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specific job tasks. No related landscaping experience required.

*HEAVY DRIVING EXPERIENCE AN ASSET

MUST HAVE:

Willingness to work outdoors in ever changing weather conditions
Must be able to stand, bend, or crouch/kneel repeatedly and for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks, including ability to lift 30-50lbs repeatedly throughout a work shift
Must be able to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials
Preference will be given to candidates with a valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
Effective communication skills in English (both verbal and written)
Be able to learn quickly about specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
Provide polite and compassionate client service
Demonstrate exceptional work ethic and attention to detail
Have a positive outlook and professional appearance

JOB DUTIES:

Assist in the preparation of job sites prior to the beginning of a project
Operate various tools and equipment, including: chainsaws, jackhammers, laser levels, measurement equipment, shovels, hammers, drills, etc.
Assist in the construction of stone work, plantings, lighting & landscape features.
Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment required to complete landscape construction projects
Transport materials using shovels, wheelbarrows, carts, dollies, and hand lifting/carrying
Assist supervisor with job-related tasks
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Comply with all company policies and regulations
Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations

WORK CONDITIONS:

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job requires good manual dexterity and stamina
Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
Easy going but hard-working team environment

COMPENSATION:

TBD depending on level of skill and experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$35.00 per hour
