Job Summary:
The Buyer is responsible for preparing and processing purchase orders for the procurement of inventory materials delivering to Echelon’s facilities or designated customer locations. This may include analyzing and selecting primary vendor sources, expediting delivery of due materials, calculating purchase quantities and order points, and other related responsibilities as directed by the Purchasing Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Complete detailed daily analysis of the Purchase Order Requirements (PORG) and Transfer Order Requirements Generation (TORG) in P21 to fulfill shortages via PO and TO/TBO creation, ensuring compliance with company policies, budgets, and purchasing procedures

Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions to achieve cost savings

Maintain supplier lead time and pricing via digital AI agent utility and ensure accuracy of delivery dates on POs

Establish and maintain supplier relationships and support strategic sourcing initiatives

Analyze sales history and forecast information to advise effective order points and purchase quantities

Expedite purchased materials for prompt delivery to Echelon to ensure customer requirement fulfilment

Collaborate with sales, operations, finance, and other departments to support accurate purchasing requirements and drive the resolution of disruptions to the flow of business

Qualifications:

4-year degree in Business or related field preferred

8 Years of experience in industrial products purchasing and order management in MRP systems required

Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Excel

Knowledge of warehouse operations

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
