Kitchen Team Member
Location: Little Town Pizza Chemainus
Hours: Approximately 15–20 hours per week
Schedule: Part-time to start, 3 days per week (weekends required)
About Us
Little Town Pizza Ltd. is a busy and growing pizzeria located in the heart of Chemainus, BC, operating from our brand-new location. As part of the Roberts Street Pizza family, serving the Cowichan Valley since 1997, we are known for our friendly atmosphere, fast-paced environment, and quality food.
We are currently looking to hire two team members, each working approximately 3 days per week. Successful applicants will be responsible for completing weekend prep shifts independently, as well as working evening cook shifts, which may include closing duties.
The ideal candidate takes pride in producing quality food, works efficiently with minimal supervision, and is willing to learn all aspects of our operation. We are looking for someone who can confidently handle prep duties independently while also contributing as part of our evening kitchen team.
Responsibilities
- Greet and take customer orders in person and over the phone with a positive attitude
- Prepare pizzas and other menu items to company standards
- Complete weekend prep shifts independently, ensuring ingredients are prepared and stocked for upcoming service periods
- Follow prep lists and recipes to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Keep ingredients, supplies, and workstations stocked and organized
- Operate in all areas of the kitchen, including pizza assembly, oven operation, customer service, dishes, and cleaning
- Wash dishes, sanitize surfaces, and maintain a clean work environment
- Assist with evening cleaning and closing procedures when required
- Provide excellent customer service
- Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive workplace culture
Requirements
- Weekend availability is required
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
- Comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking abilities
- Willingness to learn all aspects of the business, including prep, assembly, oven operation, order taking, dishes, and closing duties
- Previous kitchen or customer service experience is an asset, but training will be provided
Growth and Advancement
This position is part-time to start, with the potential for additional hours as the business grows. Team members who demonstrate reliability, initiative, and leadership potential may have opportunities for advancement within the company. We would love to train the right individual who may eventually be interested in moving into a supervisory role. There may also be opportunities to gain experience at our other locations in Ladysmith and Lake Cowichan.
