Independently review project documents, perform quantity takeoffs, and assemble complete cost estimates that reflect scope, site conditions, and constructability.
- Support Plan & Spec Pursuits
Lead the estimating process for invited bid/tender opportunities, collaborating with the Pre-Construction Manager and Account Managers to ensure competitive, margin-conscious pricing aligned with scope and bid strategy.
- Collaborate on Owner-Direct and Developed Scopes
Work closely with Account Managers and Engineering to develop pricing for solutions-based and design-assist projects. Participate in scope review, drawing development, and value-engineering as needed.

Remain available post-award to assist with early-stage scope clarifications or major design revisions that impact project cost. Provide pricing for significant change orders or bid alternates as required.
- Contribute to Pursuit Reviews and Estimating Discipline
Participate in bid strategy reviews, post-project cost analysis, and team discussions to improve pricing accuracy and pursuit discipline over time.
Qualifications:

- Several years of experience in industrial or commercial construction, with exposure to mechanical or sheet metal systems.
- Growth through a trade (e.g., sheet metal, HVAC, piping) and gained experience in coordination or pre-construction roles are ideal skillsets.
- Additional estimating, CAD/BIM, or project planning certifications are considered assets.
- Should have direct experience estimating or supporting the pricing of commercial or industrial construction projects, ideally with ventilation, sheet metal, or mechanical scopes.

- Must be confident in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, models, and tender documentation. Requires a practical understanding of quantity takeoffs, labor/productivity factors, scope definition, and how pricing decisions affect project execution.
- Familiarity with capital project cycles and the expectations of general contractors or EPCs is essential.
- Comfortable using takeoff software, estimating databases, and construction management tools. Strong working knowledge of Excel is required.
- Experience with industry-specific tools such as QuoteSoft, Procore, Bluebeam, or 3D modeling software is an asset.
