Open Hole Logging Supervisor Trainee
Responsibilities:
RECON is currently seeking a New Grad / Early Career Engineer, Geologist or Petroleum Technologist to add to our operational group. Exposure to Open Hole Logging, Well Logs and Petroleum Systems, with field work in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin is key. We are looking for someone who has been on a rig floor and wellsite and has a general idea of well operations. On the Job Training will see you working with Senior Operators to become familiar with all rig In/Out procedures and equipment. As you progress you will learn the technical side of the position and the RECON Logsys software, and learn to run well logs and QA/QC the data in the field. Eventually you will oversee the operation and scheduling of the Open Hole Logging unit (Supervisor and 2 Operators), ensuring the efficient and accurate acquisition of RECON's log data while professionally interacting with wellsite supervision. Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
· Sound knowledge of Rig In/Out procedures
· Supervising, planning and preparation for well site operations
· Supervision of crew at wellsite and pre/post
· Conduct wellsite data retrieval and customer relations
· Prompt submission of all pertinent data for logging programs
· On location printing and distribution of Field Copy logs
· Short notice availability and rotational work schedule
· Adhere to all safety regulations
Successful candidates ideally have (however not necessary) a post-secondary education in geology, engineering or petroleum engineering technology. Relevant experience in the well logging industry may supersede post secondary education. Must have a valid driver’s license for the appropriate field vehicle assigned, minimum Class 5, with a willingness and desire to obtain as Class 3. Radiation Safety, H2S Alive, WHMIS and Standard Fist Aid training would be an asset.
