Job Overview
We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Refuse Collectors. In this role, you will be responsible for the collection and disposal of waste materials in a safe and efficient manner. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions while ensuring that the community remains clean and environmentally friendly.
Duties
- Operate refuse collection vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks, including loading and unloading waste materials from designated areas.
- Collect refuse from residential, commercial, and industrial locations according to established routes.
- Ensure that all collected waste is properly secured in the vehicle to prevent spillage during transport.
- Conduct routine inspections of collection equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean work environment by ensuring that all tools and equipment are stored properly after use.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding any issues encountered during collection routes.
Requirements
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks, as this role involves moving large containers of waste.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience driving large vehicles is preferred.
- Strong physical stamina to withstand long hours of outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a commitment to safety and environmental practices.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
