Housing & Community Supports Navigator
Fort Macleod & District FCSS
Full-Time Contract (35 hours/week)
Fort Macleod & District FCSS is seeking a compassionate, resourceful, and motivated Housing & Community Support Navigator to join our team.
This position works with individuals and families experiencing housing instability or other life challenges, helping them access services, navigate complex systems, and connect with the supports they need. You'll also work closely with local agencies to strengthen community partnerships and improve outcomes for clients.
Responsibilities
- Build supportive, respectful relationships with clients.
- Assist clients in accessing programs and services such as Income Support, Alberta Works, AISH, ADAP, PDD, Seniors Benefits, affordable housing, Addictions & Mental Health, and other community resources.
- Help clients’ complete applications, make referrals, advocate on their behalf, and coordinate supports.
- Collaborate with community organizations and service providers to reduce barriers and improve access to services.
- Maintain accurate client records and complete required grant reporting.
- Stay informed about housing options and available community resources.
- Plan and deliver workshops, presentations, and community education opportunities.
- Participate in community meetings and collaborative initiatives.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who is compassionate, organized, adaptable, and able to build strong relationships with people from all backgrounds.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Post-secondary education in Human Services, Psychology, Sociology, Community Rehabilitation, Social Work, or another related field (preferred).
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience will also be considered.
- Knowledge of community resources and government benefit programs.
- Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn electronic record-keeping systems.
Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Clear Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends for community events or meetings.

Position: Full-Time Contract (35 hours/week)
Salary: $26.00-$29.00 per hour
Funding: This position is funded through the Reaching Home Program and is currently funded until March 31, 2028.
