Position Title: HR Advisor
Role Type: Permanent / Local Position (Non-Camp/Non-FIFO)
Location: Taiganova Industrial Park, Fort McMurray, Alberta
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday; 8 hour days

Partner with business unit leaders to understand operations, business plans, and current and future HR needs.
Provide timely HR guidance to leaders and employees on workplace concerns, policies, payroll, employee relations, and corrective action processes.
Visit work sites and participate in meetings with supervisors and front-line employees to stay connected to workplace issues.
Receive and assess HR concerns, clarify details, identify root causes, and provide information on options and next steps.
Support sensitive employee matters, including difficult conversations, employee relations concerns, and third-party witness support.
Draft letters, documentation, communications, and related materials using accurate information and aligned with legal guidelines and HR best practices.
Optimize HR systems and processes by leveraging M365 Power Platform tools to automate workflows, streamline data collection, improve reporting, and enhance overall efficiency.
Conduct HR investigations with Business Unit leaders, prepare written findings and recommendations, and stay current on legislation and HR best practices.
Conduct full-cycle recruitment, assist with benefits administration, and support leave management files.
Complete various other tasks that support a full-service HR Department.
2-year Diploma in Human Resources, and 2 years of dedicated HR Advisor/Business Partner experience. Equivalent combination of Education and Experience may be considered.
6 years of experience in a Human Resources department.
High level of professionalism and strong written and verbal communication skills is required.
Experience with M365 ecosystem is required.
Valid Class Five (5) Driver's Licence and abstract that demonstrates pattern of safe driving behaviour is required.
Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is required.
High attention to detail; Candidates will be required to complete an intensive skills assessment—designed to rigorously evaluate advanced Excel proficiency, high-level logical reasoning, and exceptional attention to detail—with a 90% cumulative score needed to pass.
