Located approximately 155 kilometres northwest of Prince George in central BC, the Mount Milligan Mine is a conventional truck-shovel open-pit copper and gold mine and concentrator with a 60,000 tpd capacity copper flotation processing plant.
Mount Milligan operates with comfortable camp accommodations equipped with private washrooms, TV, Wi-Fi, an onsite gym, and other recreational activities. Bus transportation to and from site is provided free of charge from several locations within the region.
Mount Milligan promotes a drug and alcohol-free workplace and has adopted a zero-tolerance policy with respect to alcohol or unauthorized drugs on site.
We are looking for a full-time Administrator, Mine Maintenance to join our Mount Milligan Mine team. Reporting to the Senior Planner, Mine Maintenance the Mine Maintenance Administrator will provide administrative support to the mine maintenance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate documentation of ISN orientation, D&A test results and site access for various contractors – embedded and on call in basis
- Audit department training records and arrange mandatory training for all workers to maintain compliance.
- Arrange external training resources and schedule department personnel for courses
- Manage all lodge accommodations and site access for department
- Manage filing and storage of all sites pre trip documents
- Update various databases for site fleets – hours, fluid usage
- Create and manage teams vacation planning calendars for department
- Manages onboarding of embedded contractors and new employees. Ensures completion and documentation of all required training needs prior to release to execution team.
- Manages employee dry locker assignments for department
- Creates and distributes various schedules and spreadsheets for team use, improving efficiency and accuracy. (calendars, leave requests, site access history, D&A history, Fleet PA hours, Contractor certifications)
- Supports Planning team during manpower shortages with SAP functions
- Submits PR and work orders in SAP
- Assists hourly employees and contractors with access to SAP, ADP, internet/email, Site network access
- Liaison with training departments (safety, mill and mine) for various required training needs
- Navigates ISN, NORCAT, Lodge reservation programs with limited training.
- Direct hourly employee’s queries to the correct department or person. (HR, Superintendent, Safety etc)
- Meet and direct new hires upon site arrival and ensure they are knowledgeable of how to get to orientation. Retrieving new hires from orientation and set them up in department.
- Support and manage PETER program workers assigned to department, ensuring they have all needs met prior to release to execution team
- Maintain all department bulletin boards and posted literature
- Provide guidance, training and support to workers on modified or restricted duties
Our ideal candidate will possess the following skillset and experience:
- Minimum education is High school diploma.
- Additional training, including completion of a one- or two-year college or other program for administrative assistants or secretaries or previous clerical experience is an advantage
- Excellent communication and people skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Effective communication and people skills.
- Proficiency in data management software and tools
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Working Conditions
- This is a camp-based position, with a rotation of 4 days on / 3 days off, Monday to Thursday, with a 10-hour daily schedule.
- Exposure to indoor/outdoor environments, heavy equipment, noise, and moving parts.
- PPE always required.
- Safety-sensitive environment with zero-tolerance drug and alcohol policy.
- Bus transportation provided from regional locations.
