Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Painter/Laborer to join our construction and restoration team. This role involves performing a variety of painting and labor tasks across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and experience with various tools and techniques related to construction painting and general labor. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, and masking areas as needed
- Apply paint, stain, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or power tools in accordance with project specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate application of paint and materials
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and rigging equipment safely and effectively
- Assist with carpentry tasks such as framing or repairs as required for restoration projects
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment at all times
- Manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to ensure project requirements are understood and met
- Support the setup and breakdown of work sites, including scaffolding or ladders when necessary
Experience
- Prior experience in construction painting, residential or commercial painting preferred
- Knowledge of industrial painting techniques is a plus
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, and construction drawings is advantageous
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, caulking, and rigging required
- Background in carpentry or restoration work is beneficial
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate tasks effectively on-site
