About the Position

We’re looking for Utility Vegetation Patrollers to join our team and support vegetation management work across Alberta. This is a full-time, year-round field position where you’ll be responsible for assessing vegetation near utility infrastructure, coordinating with landowners and municipalities, and helping to ensure safe and reliable utility service.

What You'll Do:

Patrol utility rights-of-way and identify vegetation risks
Recommend maintenance actions to mitigate hazards
Work directly with landowners, contractors, and municipal contacts to obtain permissions and coordinate work
Use digital tools and mapping software to document findings
Travel regularly across Alberta and work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ensure compliance with utility and safety standards

What You’ll Need:

Degree or diploma in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Arboriculture or other Environmental program
A valid Class 5 driver’s license (a clean driver’s abstract will be required)
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and an openness to learning new software
Comfortable working in the field year-round

Additional Assets (Preferred but Not Required):

Direct experience in patrol and consent
Certified Utility Arborist (UTT/UTW/CUA)
ISA Certified Arborist and/or TRAQ certified
Experience with GIS mapping tools
Standard First Aid/CPR, H2S, UTV/ATV/Snowmobile training
Alberta Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate or herbicide application experience
