Chamberlain School/ Arden T. Litt. Centre for Learning is an Early Learning – grade 12 school. Our 19 staff provide a service to approx. 110 students from the Hamlet of Grassy Lake and surrounding area.
Chamberlain School Regular Educational Assistant approx. 9 hours/week
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10:20 a.m. – 1:20 p.m.
Chamberlain school is looking for an educational assistant to help with providing the nutrition program at the school. This will include creating menus, planning healthy snack options, prepping and serving, as well as kitchen clean-up.
Working three days per week, the successful candidate will create healthy snack options for students in K-12. There will be menu planning, food prep and clean-up, serving, and other various tasks required. Snacks must follow nutrition guidelines and food safety courses are required (can be completed after hiring).

An Educational Assistant in Horizon School Division:

Encourages students to develop and maintain positive interaction.

Maintains confidentiality and a patient, supportive and enthusiastic commitment to students.

As required, provides personal care including toileting, diapering, feeding, dressing, grooming, etc. ensuring that student dignity is maintained. Attends to physical needs including lifting, positioning, and range of motion programs as identified by appropriate personnel.

Ensures the safety of students in the school and community, which includes maintaining close supervision of students, ensuring student equipment is sanitized and put away, retrieving students who attempt to leave their learning environment, calming and/or restraining students engaged in challenging behaviours; supervising and assisting students who utilize a variety of life skill tools (i.e., scissors, cooking utensils, etc.).

Maintains collegial relationships with the students' learning team.
