Summary:
DMC is currently looking for a Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our team on a contract basis, based in Sudbury, Ontario. The Engineer-in-Training (EIT) will be responsible for applying their engineering knowledge and project management skills on project work from conceptual design through to completion on various deliverables. The EIT will have job related tasks that alternate between office and site environments to expose the incumbent to various aspects of the mining project lifecycle, preparing them for future roles as project engineers and/or project managers.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with project engineers to carry out technical tasks requiring accuracy in calculations, completeness of data and adherence to prescribed methods.
- Prepare plans, designs and calculations based on specifications provided.
- Develop project schedules, scopes of work, execution plans, budgets, and other project management related documents.
- Implement and manage engineering, construction, and procurement work by multiple internal and external resources.
- Conduct field work and support the coordination of construction and commissioning activities.
- Report to various project stakeholders on project status regarding safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
- Demonstrate commitment to the continued improvement of Occupational Health, Safety and Environment.
- Champion and comply with the 5 Point Safety System and abide by all DMC and site policies.
- Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in an engineering discipline (Mining, Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, etc.).
- 0-2+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Eligibility for EIT designation with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Advanced level proficiency of Microsoft Office; proficiency in MS Project is an asset.
- Working knowledge of 3D design tools (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) is an asset.
- Ability to take initiative with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Able and willing to travel, as required.
Additional Information:
- We are hiring to fill an existing vacancy.
- Salary Range is expected to be between: $80,000 to $110,000 CAD (including hourly incentive bonus).
