Responsibilities
Vacancy Status: Existing position
Reporting to the Business Officer, the Program Coordinator will collaborate with the Goodman School of Mines staff and University stakeholders to develop and refine GSM led program materials and curriculum and coordinate events and related activities. Additionally, the incumbent will ensure the secure handling of confidential documentation and provide critical support in the preparation of strategic business plans.
1. Program Development & Coordination
Supports the development and delivery of Goodman School of Mines (GSM) led programming, including the Mineral Resource Industry Leadership Certificate (MRILC), MineOpportunity Games, Electrifying the Future, third-party programming, and new program development.
Coordinates end-to-end delivery of GSM initiatives; project logistics, scheduling, and stakeholder engagement across internal faculty and external mining industry and community partners.
Coordinates outreach materials, activities, and educational programming related to the institutional minerals and mining strategy.
Develops and reviews content provided to the Promotions Coordinator to create marketing material forms and promotional material for workshops, co-curricular activities, and executive courses in both print and digital formats.
Maintains program records, databases, tracking documents, and activity reports.
Coordinates the Goodman Gold Challenge, including communication with students, sponsors, judges, and chief executive officers.
2. Research & Process
Researches and compiles data and information relevant to the GSM and the institutional minerals and mining strategy.
Assists with the development and maintenance of a contact database for use by the GSM.
Assists in the preparation of research or grant applications and contract documents while ensuring the secure handling of confidential materials.
3. Outreach and Engagement
Supports GSM participation in conferences, trade shows, school visits, career fairs, and community engagement events.
Collaborates with the GSM Promotions Coordinator and institutional communication and marketing teams to support the branding, advertising, and marketing of GSM programs, websites, newsletters, initiatives, events, and activities.
Coordinates communications with staff, faculty, students, program participants, sponsors, vendors, and external collaborators.
Coordinates outreach materials, activities, and educational programming for elementary and high school students and teachers, as well as for other post-secondary students interested in transfers.
Assists with other institutional student engagement initiatives and experiential learning activities.
Performs other duties within the professional scope and skill level of the position, in full compliance with applicable legislation, university policies, and collective agreements.
Qualifications
Honors undergraduate degree (4 years) in a science or engineering based program preferred.
Three (3) to five (5) years with related experience, preferable in program coordination and development.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated problem-solving, attention to detail, and conflict resolution skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to handle, secure, and analyze large datasets in accordance with privacy and security protocols.
Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, take initiative, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Knowledge of the University structure and functions of executive offices , administrative and academic units
Experience in event planning and management, including design, communications, budgeting and implementation
Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is required.

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
