Berminghammer Foundation Equipment (SB Canada) is currently seeking :
1 CNC Boring Mill Machinist (afternoon shift)
Reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor, the CNC Machinist will support the Assembly, Welding, Engineering and Heavy Equipment Mechanics departments. The Employee is required to perform the duties as outlined.
The position will be based out of the Manufacturing site in Hamilton, ON.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
- Working on a large horizontal boring mill with Heidenhain control
- Meeting production deadlines
- Use of overhead crane to set up required equipment
- Working under minimal supervision
- Determining order of operations
- Choosing the proper tools and equipment for the task
- Creating CNC programs from solid models and part drawings
- Working in a team environment
- Completing in-process and finished part inspections
- Adhering to safe work procedures at all times
- Lifting up to 50lb
- Overtime available on a voluntary basis
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years machining experience in relevant manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 years CNC Boring Mill experience
- Experience working with Heidenhain control is necessary
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to follow written instructions
- Strong machining background in non-production environment
- Positive attitude with strong work ethics, open mindedness is a must
- Experience programming using Mastercam is an asset
- Red Seal Certification of Qualifications an asset
- Understanding of GD & T an asset
